BARSTOW — A Greyhound bus driver was arrested for investigation of heroin intoxication and drunk driving after passengers objected to his driving and demanded to be let off the bus, authorities said.
Rene Flores Rascon, 35, of Indio was driving from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. When the bus reached Baker, passengers called the California Highway Patrol.
“They said he was driving erratically,” said Officer Kurt Nester, who stopped the bus on Interstate 15 near Barstow. “He was straddling over on the right fog line, weaving.”
Rascon, a driver for 10 years, was arrested after field sobriety tests, Nester said.
