CIF FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

University (10-1) vs. Reseda (9-2) at Birmingham, Thursday, 7:30 p.m.: University defeated Reseda, 29-24, for the Pac 8 League title four weeks ago. Reseda has allowed only 80 points all season and has outscored two City Section 2-A playoff opponents, 65-19. Neither has ever won a City title; Reseda last played for the City title in 1959, and University’s Pac 8 championship was its first since 1958.
Crespi (12-1) vs. St. John Bosco (13-0) at Anaheim Stadium, Friday, 7:30 p.m.: St. John Bosco’s Oscar Meza scored with 1:29 left in the game to defeat Crespi, 32-27, for the Del Rey League title five weeks ago. Meza, the league’s most valuable player, gained 151 yards on 23 carries in the first meeting. Crespi’s Russell White, gained 155 yards on 14 carries. Crespi has outscored playoff opponents, 74-30.
Hart (12-1) vs. Temple City (13-0) at Citrus College, Saturday, 7:30 p.m.: Hart has won 12 straight games and has dominated three Northwestern Conference playoff opponents by a combined score of 111-19. Temple City is the top-seeded team in the conference. The game will match Hart’s Jim Bonds, the Southern Section’s leading passer, against a punishing Temple City running attack.
