‘Hands’ Fund Delivers $576,665

Hands Across America has distributed the first of its funds, with $576,665 due to reach organizations in 15 states before Thanksgiving, officials announced today in Los Angeles.
Thirty-five grants were given to charity organizations in states that were authorized to receive $90,000 or less each, based on a formula of poverty levels and population. States receiving the grants include Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont and Wyoming.
