With Verdugo Hills trailing 12-0 to Sylmar with 22 seconds left, quarterback Darren Fitzgerald hit receiver John Bojanac for a 45-yard touchdown,cutting the Sylmar lead to 12-6. . . . Sylmar recovered the onside kick and ran out the clock. . . . David Arms of Sylmar scored on a 14-yard end-around with two minutes left in the third quarter.
KEY PLAYERS
Mike Hampton (S), filling in for injured his cousin, all-league running back Sean Hampton, gained 108 yards on 20 carries and intercepted a pass. . . . John Bojanac (VH) caught two passes for 82 yards. . . . Shawn Fontenot (S) rushed for 61 yards on seven carries.
