MUNICH, West Germany — Twenty-seven Polish and Czechoslovak tourists abandoned their tour groups and remained in West Germany last week, Bavarian border police said Monday.
In addition, two Czechoslovak brothers, aged 29 and 23, slipped across the border into Bavaria last Thursday without being detected by Communist border guards, police said.
They declined to provide further details on the incidents and would not say if any of the defectors had applied for political asylum in West Germany.
