REDLANDS, Calif. — Police, continuing their search for a survivalist wanted for questioning in the shooting death of a 72-year-old Redlands woman a week ago, Tuesday stopped joggers and motorists who “by necessity or habit” travel in San Timoteo Canyon.
Mary Rose Lengrich was shot in the back June 17 as she took her small dog for a walk through the rural, brushy canyon.
Suspect Danny Figueroa, 26, who police said “lives off the land,” was reportedly seen in the area clad in battle fatigues. Figueroa is also wanted for questioning in two other area killings, Riverside County Sheriff’s officials said.
