Taft Seeks Parents’ Opinions of Coaches
Administrators met with eight parents of Taft High baseball players Friday morning to discuss the performance of the school’s baseball coaches.
Varsity coach Art Martinez and junior varsity coach Rolfe Rahl have been under fire from a group of baseball players and their parents since early May.
Matt Borzello, one of the parents at the meeting, said that a letter will soon be sent to all of the parents of baseball players, asking them to comment on their son’s experience in the baseball program.
“If there are any people supportive of the coach, they can stand up and be counted,” Borzello said.
Another meeting will also be scheduled, Borzello said, to give parents an opportunity to personally confront the coaches, neither of whom were at Friday’s meeting.
