Mariners Place Yeager on 15-Day Disabled List

CLEVELAND — The Seattle Mariners placed catcher Steve Yeager on the 15-day disabled list Thursday because of strained muscles in the back of his rib cage.
The move was made retroactive to Wednesday, and catcher Dave Valle was called up from Calgary of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League to replace Yeager on the Mariners’ roster.
