The teen-age son of Los Angeles Police Commission Vice President Barbara L. Schlei has been charged with one count of cocaine possession after his arrest in Venice during an alleged rock cocaine transaction, authorities said Wednesday.
Graham L. Schlei, 18, was apprehended by Los Angeles police as he was purchasing about .2 of a gram of the drug in a street corner sale, according to the district attorney’s office, which filed the felony charge.
“He was arrested in the street by officers who were part of a narcotics task force that arrested some 900 people over the city . . . in the last week,” Deputy Dist. Atty. Lee Hubbard said. “There was no (ongoing) investigation of Mr. Schlei.”
