$75,000 DONATED TO ARTS CENTER FUND

Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Inc. has donated $75,000 to the construction fund of the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa.
The gift was announced by Arlen Crouch, a Merrill Lynch regional director, on behalf of the company’s consumer markets division.
The Merrill Lynch donation is part of a Center drive to raise $3 million to meet the 3-1 matching requirement of a $1-million challenge grant announced earlier by Mr. and Mrs. William Lyon.
The center’s $70.7-million main theater is opening Sept. 29 on a five-acre site in the South Coast Plaza Town Center sector.
