Christopherson Leads Ocean View Over Westminster

Junior catcher Eric Christopherson’s single drove in two runs in the top of the sixth inning to break a 7-7 tie and give Ocean View High School a 9-7 win over Westminster in Sunset League baseball action Friday afternoon at Westminster.
Christopherson’s single scored David Leonhardt and Bill Daymude, who had both singled.
The Seahawks, who clinched the league title last week, trailed 3-0 after the first inning and 7-6 before gaining the win. The Lions (8-7, 15-8) advance to the playoffs as the league’s second-place team.
Christopherson finished with three hits and four RBIs for the Seahawks (12-2-1, 17-4-1). Bill Daymude was 4 for 4 with two RBIs, and Phil Chess had a double, triple and two RBIs for Ocean View, which collected 16 hits.
Craig Anderson (4-2) had five strikeouts in picking up the win.
