William R. Hambrecht, founder and chairman of Hambrecht & Quist, San Francisco, has reassumed the posts of president and chief executive of the investment banking and venture-capital company after the resignation of Thomas S. Volpe.
The 35-year-old Volpe, who became chief executive last year, did not announce his plans nor elaborate beyond a short prepared statement announcing his resignation.
The firm specializes in raising capital for the high-tech industry.
