Buechler Is Undecided on College

SAN DIEGO — Jud Buechler, San Diego County’s top high school basketball player from Poway High School, said Tuesday night that has not decided where he will play college basketball.

Today is the first day that high school basketball players can sign an official letter of intent to attend the college of their choice.

Buechler said he has narrowed his choice to UCLA or Arizona, but said that he is not sure when he will make his decision. He met last night with Arizona Coach Lute Olson.

“I might decide (today) and I might not,” Buechler said. “I have to wait and make up my mind when I’m ready. I’m still weighing all of the options.”

Buechler, who also plays volleyball, said he’s not sure whether that sport will have an impact on his decision. UCLA has a volleyball program and Arizona does not.
