Orange Coast Crew Wins First-Round Heat

The Orange Coast College freshman eight crew won its heat Friday in the opening round of the 13th annual San Diego crew meet on Mission Bay in San Diego.

The Pirates’ winning time was 6:16.57. The only better first-round time in Friday’s other three heats was record by California at 6:15.34. In the novice eight division, the Pirates advanced to the final with a time of 6:09.50.
