An autopsy scheduled for today will determine whether a View Park dentist suffered a wound “consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot, or whether he died at the hands of another,” a Los Angeles County coroner’s spokesman said. A passer-by found Dr. Larry Strawn, 48, slumped over in the front seat of his car in the 4800 block of Park Glen Avenue, and a handgun was found beside him, a sheriff’s spokesman said. Strawn, who operated offices in Inglewood and Los Angeles, was “a worker, by choice, who helped plan events which often honored others,” said Michelle Olivier, secretary to both the Angel City Black American Dental Society and the National Dental Assn. “Dr. Strawn was one of the co-founders of the California chapter of the NDA in 1981,” Olivier said. He was also a longtime member of the Western Dental Society.
