A child whose picture was featured on milk cartons, buses and in convenience stores after allegedly being abducted by his father three years ago, was reunited with relatives Thursday after his father surrendered to Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies.
Bruce Lucky Anderson, 33, accompanied by his attorney, surrendered at the sheriff’s Lakewood station, Deputy Bob Stoneman said. Anderson’s son, Chance, 5, was reunited with his grandmother.
Bail Set at $10,000
Stoneman said Anderson was taken before a judge at the Los Cerritos Municipal Court, who set aside the $10,000 bail on the warrant and released him.
Just where Anderson and his son had been living was not immediately known. Stoneman said the child was reported missing Jan. 20, 1982, by his mother, who lived in Artesia. The mother has since moved from the area, and officials are uncertain of her whereabouts.
A civil custody hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 14 in Norwalk Superior Court, Stoneman said.
