Charles Kisco, 89; Composer of Hit Songs

Charles (Charley) Kisco, a composer of such venerable popular songs as bandleader Ben Bernie’s theme, “It’s a Lonesome Old Town,” and “The Daughter of Peggy O’Neill,” died Sunday at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank. He was 89.
Kisco’s other songs include “Song of Troy,” written for USC; “Sweet Angeline,” “You Really Started Something,” “Somewhere in Monterey,” “Love in the Moonlight” and “Spring Is in the Air.”
He is survived by his wife, Eva.
