Cal Lutheran Women Handle La Verne, 78-66

Kim Peppi scored 21 points and Gloria Phillips added 10 points and 14 rebounds Friday night to lead Cal Lutheran to a 78-66 victory over La Verne in a women’s college basketball game.
Cal Lutheran led, 36-28, at halftime, and La Verne never got closer than six points in the second half.
Joanie Thompson and Cathy Cummings also had 10 points each for Cal Lutheran while Barbara Ott contributed 10 rebounds. La Verne was led by Jennifer Tallunga, who scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. JoWana Yate added six assists for LaVerne.
