Americans Told to Avoid Sudan

WASHINGTON — The State Department, warning of the presence of Libyan terrorists, advised Americans today to avoid travel to Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, and said it will reduce the number of U.S. government employees and dependents there.
Spokesman Charles Redman said the Sudanese government “has not responded to our concern” about the presence of the “known terrorists” in the capital of the north central African country. Asked to expand on the the identities of the terrorists, Redman said, “Most are Libyans, but there are some from other countries and organizations as well.”
