5.2 Earthquake Hits El Salvador

SAN SALVADOR — A moderately strong earthquake and two aftershocks hit El Salvador late Thursday and early today, but the Red Cross and other relief agencies said they had no reports of damage or casualties.
The Salvadoran Seismological Institute said in a report that the earthquake at 11:39 p.m. Thursday measured 5.2 on the Richter scale, with the epicenter in the Pacific, 57 miles southeast of the capital. Aftershocks followed at midnight and early this morning.
