Anaheim-based Comarco Inc. said third quarter earnings totaled $501,000, up 23% from $406,000 reported a year earlier. Revenue for the three months ended Sept. 30 was $7.6 million, up 2.7% from $7.4 million last year.
For the first three quarters, net income rose 22.2% to $1.43 million from $1.17 million, while revenues increased 12% to $23.8 million from $21.2 million.
Comarco president Glenn D. Buell, Jr. said revenues were less than anticipated because of delays in signing contracts with Hughes Aircraft and McDonnell Douglas for Comarco’s computer-aided aircraft guidance systems and its consulting services. He said he expects the Hughes Aircraft award to be completed within about two weeks.
Buell said he is “cautiously optimistic” about the fourth quarter for Comarco, a supplier of computer-based products and engineering services to the defense and aerospace industries.
