Two motorcyclists were seriously injured in separate accidents Sunday in Van Nuys and Canoga Park, Los Angeles police said.
Steve Oquin, 30, of Van Nuys collided with a car at Lennox Avenue and Vose Street in Van Nuys about 6 p.m., Sgt. Ron Barnes said. Oquin suffered a fractured back and other injuries, Barnes said.
A spokeswoman at Northridge Hospital Medical Center said Monday that Oquin’s condition was serious but stable. The driver of the other vehicle, Gerald Blanding, 30, of Sepulveda was not hurt, Barnes said. Neither driver was cited.
In the second accident, a 22-year-old man suffered what police said were major head injuries when he rounded a curve on Woolsey Canyon Road in Canoga Park and hit a car about 3 p.m., police said. The motorcyclist, whose name was not immediately available, was airlifted to Northridge Hospital Medical Center for treatment, Barnes said. The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt, he said.
