The city of Garden Grove has signed an exclusive negotiating agreement with MRW Devcorp Inc., Newport Beach, to build a $23-million mixed-use development on an 8.5-acre site at the northwest corner of Garden Grove Boulevard and Euclid Street, adjacent to the city’s civic center and Main Street shopping district.
Tentatively called Metro Square, the development would include a 125-room hotel, at least two office towers, an eight-screen movie theater, two restaurants, condominiums, retail space and parking for more than 1,000 cars, according to Julio G. Macedo, MRW Devcorp president.
He added that construction is expected to begin late next year and continue in four phases over a five-year period. MRW Devcorp is in negotiations with three national hotel chains, three restaurants chains and a national theater chain.
