Palo Alto-based Syntex announced a series of management changes tied to the expected retirement Dec. 31, 1986, of President Richard G. Rogers.
At that time, Albert Bowers, chairman and chief executive, will assume the additional title of president. Also, John H. Fried and Hans A. Wolf were elected to the newly created posts of vice chairmen. Fried will continue as president of Syntex Research, and Wolf will continue to be chief administrative officer of Syntex Corp.
Other changes include: Paul E. Freiman will become executive vice president for worldwide pharmaceuticals and agribusiness, and Thomas L. Gutshall, currently a corporate vice president and president of Syntex’s diagnostics division, will become a senior vice president of Syntex.
