Ex-Prosecutor Pleads Innocent in Bribe Case

BOSTON — A former federal prosecutor pleaded innocent Tuesday to charges that he tipped off a drug dealer about wiretaps and raids in exchange for thousands of dollars in cash and a speedboat.
David P. Twomey, 40, now an attorney in private practice, entered the plea in U.S. District Court to charges of conspiracy, bribery, obstruction of justice and aiding the smuggling of marijuana. Judge Andrew Caffrey set trial for Jan. 7 and permitted Twomey to remain free.
