The Woman’s Faire held in San Francisco earlier this month has cost one women’s organization dearly. California Press Women said most of its documents, membership prospect lists and other “one-of-a-kind journalistic and promotional material” belonging to members was thrown out with the trash after the event. “When the Brooks Hall cleaning crew went through four hours ahead of the moving out deadline, packed cartons and other materials were removed from the floor of the booth in the mistaken assumption that these were trash,” said Cornelia Hunt, the organization’s president. She said there was no way the group could get in touch again with any of the people whose names were taken at the event, and she appealed for them to contact her.
