Texas Air Earnings Set Mark in Quarter

Texas Air Corp. posted third-quarter net income of $68.8 million, the largest quarterly profit since the company was formed in 1980.

“We are pleased with the sharp improvement shown in the third quarter and believe that these results confirm the value of the restructuring of our operations that we have undertaken during recent years,” said Robert D. Snedeker, senior vice president of Texas Air.
Texas Air also reported a profit of $122.6 million in the first nine months of 1985, compared to earnings of $39 million in the same period a year ago.
The Houston-based holding company has major interests in Continental Airlines, New York Air and CCS Automation Systems.
