Toro Rides Tamarinda to Oak Tree Victory

Tamarinda outfinished Love Smitten through the stretch Thursday to win the $45,000 feature race for older fillies and mares at Santa Anita’s Oak Tree meeting.

Ridden by Fernando Toro, Tamarinda was a half-length in front of Love Smitten, ridden by Laffit Pincay. Truffles, ridden by Eddie Delahoussaye, was another 2 3/4 lengths back.

The winner was timed in 1:47 2/5 for 1 1/8 mles over a firm turf course and paid $5.20, $3.20 and $3. Love Smitten returned $3.20 and $2.80, and Truffles paid $5.20 to show.
