Colgate-Palmolive Co., a leading consumer-products company, said its third-quarter earnings fell 13% from a year ago when its profit for the quarter included a one-time gain of $11.1 million. Reuben Mark, president and chief executive, said the company had a “significant increase” in its worldwide volume in the quarter. Colgate makes and distributes worldwide products used by consumers, health-care professionals and industry.
