Dedication ceremonies were held for Irvine Valley College, the newest community college in Orange County. Chancellor Joshua L. Smith, appointed in January to oversee the state’s community campuses, was the keynote speaker. Irvine Valley was formerly the north campus for Saddleback Valley College, but was officially severed from the college earlier this year and became an independent institution in September.
