The parent of Northwest Airlines is expected to announce today an order worth as much as $2 billion from Boeing Co. The order would be for Boeing’s new, longer-range 747-400 jumbo jet as well as several 757 jets, according to industry sources and news reports. Northwest President Steven G. Rothmeier would only say that the carrier will announce a major aircraft order soon.
