In response to Marc Weinberg’s comments about the KCOP editing of “The Searchers” (Viewers’ Views, Sept. 8): All television stations have to edit their films to conform to time periods, unless a film is short enough to fit into the time period. There are occasions when a two-hour movie time period will be expanded. Of course, this will disrupt the viewing habits of those viewers for the program normally scheduled. It is our wish to please as many people as possible.
Peter Schlesinger, program operations and development manager, KCOP
