Plunkett Will Have Surgery on Shoulder

Raider quarterback Jim Plunkett, who suffered a separated left shoulder in Sunday’s 34-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, will undergo arthroscopic surgery to sew the shoulder back into position.
Plunkett’s shoulder had continued to pop out after he was hospitalized in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Robert Rosenfeld, the Raider orthopedist, said that the operation will not affect Plunkett’s predicted recovery time--at least six weeks.
Plunkett was put on injured reserve Monday.
