Some 30 craft unions representing more than 20,000 workers ratified a three-year contract with movie and television producers, a union official said. The vote was 9,344 favoring and 742 against the agreement reached Aug. 1, said Mac St. Johns, international representative of the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees. The pact calls for a 90-cent hourly pay raise the first year, $1 the second year and $1.10 the final year, with a 25% pension benefit boost for active employees and 10% for those already retired, he said.
