Cal State Fullerton Loses in Volleyball

Middle blocker Ellen Buglaski had 12 kills Friday to lead the Cal Poly Pomona women’s volleyball team to a 15-4, 15-8, 16-14 Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. win win over Cal State Fullerton in Titan Gym.
The win improved San Luis Obispo’s conference record to 2-0 and overall record to 5-1. The Titans are 0-1 and 7-4.
In nonconference community college volleyball action:
El Camino 3, Golden West 1--The Warriors defeated the Rustlers, 15-5, 10-15, 15-5, 15-12, in the season opener for both at Torrance.
Sophomore middle blocker Cece Elias led Golden West with 12 kills and five blocks, and sophomore setter Julie Voland had 32 kills.
San Diego Mesa 3, Orange Coast 2--The Olympians scored three straight points to break a 12-12 tie in the deciding game and went on to defeat the Pirates, 15-5, 10-15, 5-15, 15-5, 15-12, at Costa Mesa.n
In the BYU tournament:
Idaho 3, Chapman 2--The Vandals rallied from a two-game deficit to beat the Panthers and advance to the championship round.
Chapman 3, Washington State 1--The Panthers defeated the Huskies, 15-11, 15-12, 6-15, 15-13 in a first-round match of the consolation bracket.
