UCLA Soccer Team Ties Florida International

MIAMI — Mike Getchell headed in a goal in the second half Sunday to give second-ranked UCLA a 1-1 tie with host Florida International in the FIU Soccer Tournament.

Mike Brady scored the winning goal with 26 seconds left to give American University a 2-1 victory over Tampa in the other game.

American (4-0), ranked 19th in the nation, also scored on a shot by David Nakhid, while Tampa (3-3) got its goal from Mark Keymont.

Rich O’Connor scored for Florida International (2-2-1), defending Division II national champion, before the Bruins (3-0-2) pulled even.
