The Rio Hondo Community College Board of Trustees has adopted a $20.1-million budget for fiscal 1985-86. As in recent years, about 85% of the new budget--about $16.7 million--is earmarked for salaries and benefits for employees.
The new budget is about 1% larger than last year’s budget of $19.2 million.
State funds make up 78.5%--about $15.8 million--of the new budget, said Rio Hondo spokeswoman Pamela Jo Cox. About $10.4 million--53.2% of the budget--pays salaries of certificated employees, who are primarily instructors. About $3.8 million--19.5% of the budget--pays classified salaries. Another $2.5 million will be used to pay for benefits for certificated and classified personnel.
