KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A dead parachutist, heavily armed and carrying 35 kilograms of cocaine valued at $14 million, was found crumpled on a resident’s gravel driveway this morning, police said.
“He was apparently dead from the fall,” said police Detective Jim Jones. He said the man, who wore a bulletproof vest under his jumpsuit, carried a duffel bag of cocaine. Police said that the man’s main parachute had failed to deploy and that they found a number of conflicting identification cards on the body.
