Cleaning Up
While media coverage during the past year has concentrated on the City of Santa Ana’s code enforcement efforts, many Santa Ana homeowners have quietly solicited loans and assistance from the city to improve their own property.
We on Mar Les Drive would like your readers to know that we take pride in our neighborhood. Beginning the first week of October, 62 homeowners will begin cleaning up, fixing up, repairing fences and painting. Our efforts will include the planting of 300 bougainvilleas and the improvement of areas beyond our property lines.
When we have finished our project all of us will gather for a potluck dinner.
Many of us have owned our homes since 1948. The landscape has changed dramatically in nearly 40 years, but our pride in ownership hasn’t changed. We wanted you to know that the city has responded to our request for assistance, and that throughout Santa Ana other homeowners have also been quietly improving their property.
