Little League baseball has begun an informal investigation into charges that the team from Seoul, South Korea, which won this year’s championship, violated tournament rules.
Dr. Creighton Hale, president of the Little League Baseball World Series, said the investigation is focusing on charges that the team came from a league with more teams than permitted by tournament rules and that it improperly practiced before June 24.
Seoul defeated Mexicali, Mexico, 7-1, in the championship game last Saturday.
