Our Real Worries
While newspaper editors fret on the front page about esoteric subjects like divestiture and apartheid in South Africa, Japan’s national debate over arms spending and the Arab League’s problems, it is interesting to note from the Letters to the Editor page what the average individual really worries about on a day-to-day basis.
Writers to the editors reveal their frustrations existing side by side with blaring radios, perpetual “junk yard” garage sales, and the ever-present Los Angeles litter--rather than problems 10,000 miles away. Maybe their worry quotients preclude subjects they can know nothing about. Commendable for sound mental health.
