Long Beach Community College District trustees have announced a tentative three-year agreement with about 300 district teachers who have been without a contract since late last year. The teachers are expected to approve the agreement at a meeting next week, said California Teachers Assn. spokeswoman Milly Bettinger.
Bettinger said the tentative contract calls for each teacher to receive $1,100 in a lump sum and a 10% pay increase effective Sept. 1. Mary Weir, president of the CTA chapter at Long Beach City College, said she is confident the faculty would be pleased with the settlement.
