Du Pont Co. announced that Vice Chairman Richard E. Heckert has been named deputy chairman and designated as successor to Chairman Edward G. Jefferson when Jefferson retires next May 5.
As deputy, Heckert will be responsible for “all units and consolidated subsidiaries” of the chemicals company, according to a statement from Du Pont’s Wilmington, Del., headquarters.
Heckert, 61, will be replaced as vice chairman by Edgar S. Woolard Jr., 51, currently an executive vice president.
