Jack Rowley has resigned as general manager of Park La Brea, the 178-acre residential and commercial complex owned by May Department Stores. Richard Taylor, from May’s St. Louis headquarters, is serving as interim manager.
A spokesman for May said that Rowley, who had been manager since 1978, left to pursue personal business interests but continues in an advisory capacity on some Park La Brea-related projects. Rowley’s resignation was effective in early August.
In February, May paid $110 million in stock and cash to buy Metropolitan Life Insurance’s half ownership of the the huge apartment and retail center between 3rd and 6th streets off La Brea Boulevard.
