The Hermosa Beach City Council has imposed a 45-day emergency moratorium on new condominium and apartment projects in areas zoned for single-family residential development. The ban will allow the Planning Commission to review city ordinances for possible ambiguities that might permit condominium construction in single-family zones.
Inconsistencies in city ordinances were noticed after a proposal was filed with the city for a 10-unit condominium development in a single-family zone on 20th Street.
