Fraternity Balcony Collapses; 26 Hurt

AMES, Iowa — An Iowa State University fraternity house balcony collapsed under the weight of 20 to 40 people at a party, spilling them 20 feet to the ground and injuring at least 26, authorities said.
None of those hurt when the balcony collapsed Monday night at the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity house was critically injured. Authorities said most of the injured either declined treatment or were treated at a local hospital and then released.
