Local News in Brief : Fire Burns 20 Acres Near Castaic Lake
- Share via
Fire scorched about 20 acres of brush Sunday near the Golden State Freeway north of Castaic Lake but caused no injuries or structural damage, officials said.
The blaze, which broke out shortly after 5 p.m., was caused by a car that apparently caught fire at the side of the freeway. The flames quickly spread to the surrounding brush, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.
About 150 firefighters were called to the scene and had extinguished the fire by about 6:30 p.m.
