Local News in Brief : Ice Cream Seller Faces Molestation Charge

A39-year-old ice cream vendor accused of sexually abusing a 9-year-old Granada Hills girl after giving her some ice cream has been arrested on a felony molestation charge, a police spokesman said.
William Brunet of Northridge was arrested at 2 p.m. Tuesday in a park near the intersection of Petit Avenue and Chatsworth Street in Granada Hills after witnesses reported that the man molested a child who had approached his ice cream truck, Los Angeles Police Detective Ed Evans said .
Witnesses said the suspect had been selling ice cream in the area for weeks, according to police.
Brunet was released from Van Nuys Jail after posting $5,000 bail Wednesday, Evans said.
