No Apology Necessary for Loss in Davis Cup
- Share via
It was refreshing to view the Davis Cup matches, even though the United States lost to West Germany. Our player representatives played as well as possible but made us proud with their deportment. I feel that it is better to lose with class than to win under embarrassing circumstances such as would have been the case with players like Connors and McEnroe. Who needs them? America doesn’t need tennis players for whom it has to apologize.
