For the second time in two months, E. F. Hutton & Co. said it failed to provide federal prosecutors with documents covered by subpoenas during the investigation of the company’s illegal bank overdrafting. The recently discovered documents include a copy of a 1981 handwritten note by Thomas P. Lynch, then Hutton’s executive vice president for finance, encouraging the use of overdrafting techniques.
